Old Navy Labor of Love Sale Picks for Girls!

Hello and Happy Thursday folks! Hope all of you are having a FABULOUS day so far. Labor Day is right around the corner and you know what that means…SALES! I came across Old Navy’s Labor of Love sale and of course I had to share the love with you all. The sale is going on right now and I just placed my order so I thought I’d share what I purchased for Isabella!

The entire store is on sale up to 60% off everything (crazy, I know). Since there aren’t any exclusions, I figured this is perfect timing to grab a few winter items for Isabella.

This Week & Our Trip to South Florida

This past week seemed to just fly by! I had a feeling the last 2 weeks of my maternity leave would go by rather quickly, in reality, it felt like a blink of an eye.

Last Monday we had our “trial day” with our daycare where Isabella attended a full day (8 hours) to “see how things go”. Hubs and I started getting Isabella’s daycare bag together around 7:30am and by 8 I was a sobbing wreck. As I was packing her bag and picking her up to place her in the car seat, these emotions seemed to hit me all at once and the tears just started to flow. It’s like I couldn’t hold them back anymore. Thank God for my husband, Frank! He was so supportive and understanding as I was standing there crying. Any moms out there have a similar experience of emotions when taking little ones to daycare/school for the first time?

Once we arrived at the daycare and saw the awesome staff again, my anxiety level dropped tremendously. I was reminded that I was leaving her in the hands of great people. I still cried a little when saying our final goodbyes. Hubs and I ran a few errands before heading home where I spent the rest of my time doing chores and packing for our trip to Ft. Lauderdale. We checked in with the classroom a few times throughout the day for updates. We picked her up at 5:30 that evening and she was all smiles. She didn’t cry not once, but she did spit up and needed an outfit change. Seems like the transition to daycare is going well so far.

Tuesday was pretty low-key. The kids were in school and hubs went back to work. My mom came by and spent a couple of hours visiting. I popped into Buy Buy Baby that afternoon looking for a travel sleeper for Isabella. I found the Summer Infant Deluxe By Your Side Sleeper on their website and thankfully, the store had 1 left and I was able to walk in and purchase it.

We started our Wednesday morning on the early side around 4am with a feeding. Isa fell back sleep almost immediately after her bottle. I started loading the car with our luggage and other trip essentials. We picked up my mom and headed for the turnpike. From Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale is roughly a three and a half hour drive. Isabella pretty much slept the entire way.

Our first stop upon arriving in SoFL was my cousin’s hair salon for a little pampering. Both my mom and I got our hair done along with well needed manicures and pedicures. Spending that time with my mom was so awesome! Afterwards we headed to my aunt’s house in Cooper City. I love visiting her home. Her house is really peaceful. Well, she does have neighbors nearby that have roosters who crow every morning like clockwork. She also has these three beautiful dobermans. At first sight, they look intimidating, but they really are sweet dogs.

I was also able to catch up with a long time friend of mine, Stephanie. We’ve been friend since we were in fourth grade. She moved down to Ft. Lauderdale around the time Frank and I were getting married. Every time one of us is in town, we do our best to meet up and spend some time together. This time, we had lunch at on of our favorite happy hour spots, Brio Tuscan Grille.  If you’ve never been and you’re a fan of Italian food, I definitely recommend checking them out. They’re food is really good…and so are their drinks!

The following day my mom and I did some shopping at Sawgrass Mills. This was Isabella’s first outing to a mall. We stopped in Carter’s to pick up a few outfits for daycare. The store was having a pretty good sale. The last time I was in Carter’s I got a coupon for $10 off my next purchase which also helped me to score this cute little St. Patty’s Day outfit for free!
I also bought Isa a super cute pair of gold sandals and a plush car seat toy, unfortunately, they never made it in my bag (after I paid for them). I ended up having to call the store to have them ship the items to me. Hopefully I’ll get them sometime next week. We ended our evening back at my aunt’s house where she cooked a delicious curried lobster dinner. Here’s a similar recipe to try.

Friday my mom and I kept things pretty simple. We started getting our things together for the trip back. That evening we all went to dinner in nearby Weston at Bonefish Grill. I ordered the spicy tuna bowl, which I was so excited about because I have been craving it for months while I was pregnant. Both my mother and aunt ordered pasta dishes. My meal was delicious until I found a long blonde hair in it (YUCK!), which totally killed my appetite.

Saturday morning both my mom and I were up before the sun loading up the car with our luggage. After breakfast we said our goodbyes and started making our way back to Orlando. This past week was awesome and we really enjoyed our time in South Florida as usual.

I hope you all enjoyed your week as much as I did! Thank you again for reading and have a FAB weekend! 🙂

Recent Purchases + Guest Posting on Pumps & Pints

Happy Friday everyone! Today, I’m guest-blogging over on Pumps & Pints about my dress picks for SpringYou can check out my post here. I’m looking forward to hearing from you ladies—comments are appreciated!

In the meantime, I wanted to share some of my recent purchases for Isabella. I stopped by Babies R Us in the Waterford Lakes area earlier this week for a baby monitor. I ended up getting the Sure Glow audio monitor by the brand Safety 1st. I didn’t want anything too fancy, just something with a good audio range.

So far the monitor has worked great! I like having the ability to hear Isabella when she’s in her bassinet while I’m doing chores around the house. After Babies R Us, I made my way over to Carter’s and picked up a few 3 month sized clothes for Isabella since she’s quickly outgrowing NB sizes. I was able to get this adorable onesie with an ice cream cone on the butt for $7.99 on sale!

I also found this little blue and white striped dress and two pairs of leggings in white and navy with polka dots. Lastly, I couldn’t resist these super cute white ballet flats with the floral detail on the toe.

Hope you all enjoy your Friday and have a Fabulous weekend!

Isabella’s 2 Month Photos!

Before Isabella was born, I was already thinking about newborn photos. Of corse I turned to good ol’ Pinterest for some inspiration. With my due date having been Christmas Day, most of the local newborn photographers were booked solid straight through January. After Isabella was born the days following seemed to move at lightening speed. The holidays were in full swing and I still needed to recover from the episiotomy. Before I knew it, the month of January was coming to an end and February was fast approaching.
Thankfully the hospital photographer did come by and took a few shots of Isabella the day she was born, which hubs ordered. Since we were lucky enough to have those beautiful photos, I figured we can take more photos of her during one of her milestones.
My friend Amanda, the same photographer that did my maternity photos seen here, offered to take some shots of Isabella. I thought that was so sweet of her! I’m SO elated with how the photos turned out! I’m glad we were able to do them on such short notice. I can’t wait to have them framed and create a gallery wall in our living area.

Here are the shots from our shoot:

I hope you liked Isabella’s photos. Amanda was ah-mazing…check out her website to view more of her work!

Shopping for a baby girl is so much fun! Because we’re limited on space, I’m making it a point to only purchase items she’ll use immediately or within the next two months rather than buying tons of toys.

Below are some gift ideas if you have a little girl, shopping for someone that does or are expecting a little princess like me! I’m not buying Isabella everything below— it’s simply a mix of items either we’ve already purchased for Christmas or some I think are just cute and would make great gifts!

Welcome Home Basket  |  Plush Play Mat  |  Fleece Blanket  |  Strawberry Terry Teether  |  Baby Activity Gym  Minnie Mouse Activity Toy  |

Dots & Hearts Dress  |  Five-pocket Knit Pants  |  Fur Booties  |  Twill Check Dress  |  Knit Beret  |  Children’s Sequin Hangers  |

I hope you enjoyed my picks and happy shopping!

30 Weeks…Only 10 More To Go!

I worked both Saturday and Sunday, so my weekend was pretty uneventful. I did however get 2 really adorable gifts from my co-workers for baby Isabella. I think they know I have a thing for baby feet (and cute shoes of course), so gave me the most adorable shoes for her little feet 🙂  I can’t wait to see her in them.

I also had my 30 week appointment on Monday and we finally got to see Isabella’s face. We scheduled the 3D sonogram for this visit. Hubs and I were so excited. My stepson ended up having the day off from school, so he was able to come to the visit as well and partake in the excitement! He was pretty amazed he was able to see his little sister’s facial features in such detail.

Since I worked the entire weekend, I took Monday as my day off. Hubs and I used that day to get as many of our baby related errands done. After the appointment, we went over to Winnie Palmer Hospital, where I’ll be delivering and completed the pre-registration paperwork.

How far along? 30 weeks (I do these a week behind, so I’m actually 31 weeks today).  Just 9 more to go!

Symptoms: I’m still feeling pressure down below. I think that is due in part to baby now being in the head down position. I’m still experiencing heartburn, mostly in the evenings and at night. I’ve eliminated all spicy and acidic foods from my diet. I also try eating dinner a little earlier in the evening and cut out my bedtime snacks.

Sleep: I slept so much better this week! I think I found a comfortable position with my snoggle (and hubs) that has made sleeping throughout the night easier.

Total weight gain/loss: I’ve gained a total of 17.5 lbs so far.

Maternity clothes: I haven’t purchased any new maternity clothes, but I’m still looking for a dress for my baby shower next weekend.

Here are some of the dresses I’ve been considering:

What I miss? Sleeping on my stomach, bubble baths and wearing heels (believe it or not).

Movement: I often feel kicks and knees to my ribs as well as waves of movement across my belly almost all the time. I also feel occasional pokes to my pelvis.

Food cravings: Milkshakes and ice cream! The milk has definitely helped soothe my heartburn.

What’s making me sick: Still staying away from foods high in acidity like apple, orange and pineapple  juices, lemonade, tomato sauce or spicy foods.

Looking forward to: My baby shower next weekend, seeing my cousin Maxine, finally getting our floors refinished and finishing up baby girl’s nursery.

Best moment this week: Getting to take a sneak peek at Isabella’s face during our 3D sonogram.

Worst moment of the week: This week was pretty descent, so no complaints.

Thank you for reading and following along with me on my journey to motherhood. For other moms and moms-to-be, please feel free to check in below and let me know how your pregnancy is going 🙂 I also welcome everyone’s advice and comments about pregnancy! Have a great Thursday!

It’s a GIRL! Maternity Shoot

I’m so excited to share my maternity photos with you today. They turned out beautifully and will be such a great way to remember this special time during my life. The talented photographer and good friend, Amanda Hoffman, took these gorgeous photos last week on Park Avenue in Winter Park.

I absolutely recommend having maternity photos taken. Though you may not look or feel your best when you’re pregnant, working with a photographer you’re comfortable with makes all the difference! I’m glad I have these photos that capture my pregnancy.

Here are some of my favorite shots, hope you enjoy…
