Isabella Frances: 8 Months Old!

Our sweet baby girl Isabella Frances is 8 months today! I know I say this each month, but I really can’t believe how quickly time passes. Watching her grow these last few weeks has just been nothing short of amazing.

She’s officially crawling all over the place. She pulls herself up on everything and she’s great at standing, even taking steps with help. She’s also chatting up a storm! Lots of baby talk; “dada,” “maaaa,” “gaagaa”. She can roll and flip herself over into a seated position on her own making it the first thing she does if she has a wake up in the middle of the night.

She is so alert and so responsive. She’s interested in everything happening around her. She wants to touch, grab, and of course put everything in her mouth. She responds to her name (her nicknames too) and is curious about the things we say and do. When she’s in her high chair, her little head is constantly on a swivel. She’s on the lookout for Mickey, watching him play with his toys.

There’s no denying Isabella has a great appetite and I’m so grateful for that because she’s eating all kinds of foods— lots of fruits and veggies.
Here are Isabella’s 8 month updates:
Weight: Isabella is about 22 pounds. I will find out her height and head measurements at her 9 month appointment.
Diet: Isabella is a really good eater, which is such a blessing because she eats just about anything. As far as solids go, she really likes sweet potatoes, butternut squash, carrots, corn, zucchini, apple sauce, pears, and her beloved bananas. When she particularly loves something she bounces in her high chair making this “mmm” sound…it’s too adorable. Most of the time, it’s like I can’t spoon her food in fast enough. She even protests if I’m moving too slow. There have been a few instances when she gets so frustrated with being spoon-fed, that I end up giving her a bottle. I still mix Gerber’s oatmeal cereal into her fruit purée for breakfast and I’ll also add a scoop or two into her night bottle.
Sleep:  Isa still has a few wake ups throughout the night, usually remedied by simply putting her paci back in and she’ll go right back to sleep.  She’s still averaging about 7-10 hours of sleep each night going to bed around 9-9:30pm and waking up between 7-7:30am.
Social: Isabella sees all of her baby friends at daycare 4-5 times a week. We haven’t done too many play-dates recently, but we do have a few coming up here in the next few weeks.
Crying: On a few occasions, we’ve noticed that Isa is throwing little temper tantrums when she doesn’t get what she wants and it’s usually in relation to food. She lets out these screeching cries if she sees her bottle or her food bowl and you;’re not giving it to her fast enough. You’d think she was food deprived as a baby with how much she wants the food NOW.  I still wouldn’t consider her a baby that cries a lot because these moments are  pretty minimal.
Size of Clothing: I feel like I can’t keep up with how fast Ia is growing. She’s already outgrown majority of her 6-12 and 9 month clothing. She’s mostly wearing 12-18 month clothing, which is still astonishing to me.  She does have a few 9-12 onesies and dresses that are still going strong thankfully, but I’ve packed away most of the clothes she’s outgrown already.
Milestones: Isabella can pull up on her own, crawls and rolls all over the place, crawls backwards to get into a seated position on her own and is babbling more and more everyday. She is also really good with her kung-fu grasp.
Likes: Getting into a sitting position all on her own, putting everything in her mouth, pulling up on everything, giggling and screeching enthusiastically, bath time, pulling mommy’s hair and grabbing grandma’s glasses, waking up in the sitting position or standing and screaming.

Thanks for reading and hope you had a great weekend!
